{"id":418,"date":"2010-12-05T07:12:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-05T07:12:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2016-02-27T04:05:08","modified_gmt":"2016-02-27T04:05:08","slug":"quick-turbo-inspection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.n5hrk.com\/blog\/secaturbo\/quick-turbo-inspection\/","title":{"rendered":"Quick turbo inspection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had a slightly slow start, but a productive day.<\/p>\n<p>After welding one of the fenders back on Sponge Bob Square Trike and putting new fishtail ends on Gilbert&#8217;s exhaust, which involved replacing the mufflers with straight pipes \ud83d\ude42 , I spent a few minutes accessing the turbo to see whether or not it&#8217;s completely trashed.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, it need cleaning, but looks good.<\/p>\n<p>All I removed was the muffler and the intake duct. As determined by the borescope, the bottom of the intake was full of oil. Turning the impeller also raised some more oily sludge from the bottom. It&#8217;s not a very efficient lift pump.\u00a0I will definitely need to remove it for cleaning.
